finding my voice
I've heard about this... finding one's voice. This isn't the first blog I've started you realize... I have a few more floating out there with different blog names, photos, fonts, colors etc... it occurred to me that I could be fussing with the appearance of the blog full time and never get to filling it with content. So I just started and said "whatever, here goes".
When you're in school (art school for me) you don't realize that you're forming your voice... it's masked by class names called Intro to Painting and Wheel Thrown Ceramics and your focus is passing these classes with a decent grade and growing up - yet a voice is formed throughout it without you even knowing. Now... in the adult world, when like me you're suddenly without a "class" (aka: job) what do you do? What was that voice again? So here I am... and will be stumbling to form a beautiful vase out of the tumble of clay in my head. Enjoy friends and thanks for coming along for the ride.
fuzzy salad
Lunch today was a tasty success of wild rice including diced roast chicken, celery, parsley and orange. I am finding however that my freebee digital camera cannot focus - or I can't focus it.... either way it is apparent that I must read the instructions for it which is usually beyond me as I can be a little lazy in that department. So hopefully there will be more "in focus" photos to come as fuzzy wild rice salad is only sort of pretty.

beer and bikes

It is hard to remember that it was actually snowing 3 days ago - especially when relaxing in 70+ degree temperatures this weekend. Husband Josh went riding with brother Christophe on the third annual De Rhonde van Oeste Portlandia. The grueling hills and tales of riders literally tipping off their bikes due to exhaustion and degree of hill angle were rewarded with much needed beer from the keg. Elliott, my 2 year old nephew assisted in bike maintenance afterward.
